ASSISTANT : FITTING X1 (GRADING A)
Qualifying Criteria :
Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
Basic Pump Fitting background will be advantageous
1-2 years’ experience in an industrialized environment is essential and required
South African Citizenship
Clear Criminal Record
Responsibilities :
Provide efficient support within the Engineering Pump Fitting Section
Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
Assist Artisan(s) in carrying out their duties efficiently by providing support and carrying tool box, hand tools and other equipment
Responsible for good housekeeping in and around the working place
Ability to disassemble and re-assemble pumps and other associated equipment using hand tools
Participate in all maintenance and breakdowns on both underground and surface pumps
Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
