The Department of Educational Foundation, within the Faculty of Humanities, is seeking to appoint Assistant Markers at the Soshanguve North Campus.


Key performance areas/Core functions:

The marker in the Department of Educational Foundation is an academic leader responsible for marking and managing assessment activities of teaching and learning activities and execute the following duties:

• Mark online assessment activities at undergraduate level with specialization in the FET/GET learning area.

• Work interdependently with others and adhere to set due dates for submission of marks.

• Must have theoretical and practical knowledge in Educational Foundation subjects to be able to mark scripts online.

• Must have ample technology skills and access to sufficient data to mark online.


Minimum requirements:

1. Academic qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Education.


2. Experience:

• Knowledge in the area of Educational Foundation subjects, which include technology assisted methods.

• Ability to mark assessment activities online.


3. Knowledge and Skills

• Teaching, supervision, and mentoring

• Interpersonal relations

• Skills in working with students individually and in teams

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and technologies.


4. Registration with a professional body.

• None
