Special Conditions | Required to work either 8 hour shifts on the beaches or 12 hour shifts at the overnight facility for 24hour coverage.Required to work 6 days a week. Wear the uniform provided while on duty |
Job Purpose | Responsible for the safety and care of children separated from their parents or guardians on thebeachfront, until they are re-united. |
Key Responsibility Areas | Report to the Law Enforcement Office or other location as as directed on commencement andat the end of the shift to sign on and off duty.Report to and remain at the designated beach to which they are deployed for the day unlessdirected to provide relief at another beach.Erect the shelter/tent at the beginning of the shift and clean and pack away at the end of theday.Keep a detailed register of the names and times of the children were received, who handedthem in and the time and details of the persons who the children were reunited with. Thisinformation is to be provided to the Law Enforcemant Officers.Take care of and pacify the children in their custody and provide them with refreshments andblankets if necessary.Inform the Law Enforcement of any medical need, shortages in food, blankets or bedding orany overwhelming anxieties.Cook three meals a day for children at the overnight facility and ensure that they havesufficient bedding and clothing which has to be kept clean and washed.Escort children when they need to use the ablution facilities as required. |
