Role Overview

NMG Benefits in cooperation with NMG Financial Planning has embarked on a joint initiative that seeks to entrench financial planners within the wider NMG Corporate client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced financial advisers to take their practices to the next level or lay a solid foundation for less experienced financial advisers that require client opportunities and assistance in growing their practices.

Provide holistic financial advice over various financial planning dimensions such as savings and retirement, investments both local and offshore, life and ancillary risk planning and estate and legacy planning.

Key Performance Objectives

Client responsibilities

  • Provide holistic and well considered advice to a growing book of clients.

  • Advice to be provided across savings and retirement planning, local and offshore investments, life and ancillary risk planning and estate and legacy planning.

  • Maintain and grow a book of clients, maximise cross selling opportunities, perform up to date reviews when appropriate.

  • Provide superior client service, that is: timeous, considered, appropriate, fair and in favour of great client outcomes.

  • Meet and exceed client expectations.


Corporate responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted resource and partner to NMG Benefits’ Corporate Client Base, build relationships and open channels of cooperation.

  • Partner with NMG Benefits colleagues to foster cooperation, find solutions and create opportunities.

  • Manage corporate opportunities, follow the set out strategic and consultative selling procedures and processes.

  • Create opportunities to engage with prospective individual clients and where necessary provide advice and execution of financial plans for individuals from corporate clients.

  • Manage in-fund lead flow, report on progress and comply with systems and other reporting requirements.

  • Consistently uphold the highest standard of honesty, integrity and professionalism within the allocated corporate client opportunity.

  • Keep abreast of changes in legislation and regulation as well as industry developments and client needs.



General responsibilities

  • Utilise NMG Financial Planning systems and resources diligently and on time.

  • Engage in intra-company meetings and sessions, consistently improve personal knowledge by formal learning or informal skills development.

  • Strictly adhere to the NMG Financial Planning house view in terms of asset allocation, application of client risk tolerance, products and portfolios.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a financial discipline such as financial planning, accounting, banking, economics or investments.

  • NQF5 wealth management or higher appropriate qualification.

  • RE5 Regulatory Examination Certificate.

  • Class of Business Training Certificates (In respect of the license categories for which the candidate has been registered)

  • CPD certificates available on demand.

  • FAIS fit, proper and accredited.


Experience

  • Three or more years of financial planning experience.

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s license and their own reliable vehicle.

  • The candidate must have clear credit and criminal records.

Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.  Uses resources effectively and efficiently.  Arranges information and files in a useful manner. Perform certain administrative functions as and when required.

  • Interpersonal skills: Relates well to all kinds of people. Builds appropriate rapport. Builds constructive and effective relationships. Uses diplomacy and tact. Can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.

  • Co-ordination Skills:  Able to multi-task in an effective manner.  Does not get confused easily.  Able to change direction at a moment's notice whilst ensuring timeous completion of all operations.  Maintains up to date knowledge of all current tasks.

  • Time Management: Uses their time effectively and efficiently.  Values time.  Concentrates their efforts on the more important priorities.  Gets more done in less time than others.  Can attend to a broader range of activities.

  • Problem Solving Skills: Uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Makes use of all resources to get answers. Able to see hidden problems. Good at analysis. Looks beyond the obvious desired objectives.

  • Communication Skills:  Is able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.  Able to get the messages across that have the desired effect.
