KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
ADMINISTRATION:
Provide day to day human resource administrative support & contribute to the long-term development of the HR function.
Provide all recruitment administration support for A and B band appointments.
Ensure all work references and background checks (criminal, qualification etc.) are carried out fully and timeously.
Manage the new joiner process from offer letter through to joining instructions and induction (A- B band appointments).
Provide HR support, advice to employees/line managers, explaining policies, procedures in a timely and effective manner.
Handle leave processes & queries (family responsibility, maternity, paternity, adoption, parental, union etc.).
Handle health, safety, IOD processes and queries, and Clinic Matters.
Enter data into the HR system, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Maintaining personnel filing system and safeguard the files and documentation.
Manage and provide relevant data for weekly, monthly and annual reporting to the relevant team members/customers.
Run and share with relevant team members and customers - daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Liaise with payroll to address related queries and distribute Pay-slips.
Process Medical Aid / Retirement Fund entries and withdrawals.
Manage, handle and process death and disability claim documents.
Capture disciplinary records into SAP and Administer the recording of absence.
Administer employee study applications (CAS), bursary documentation. Work closely with L&D team to coordinate training (venue bookings, schedule sessions, communicate with relevant people etc.).
IR/ER:
Provide support in investigations for disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Distribute/disseminate policies and convey related communication.
Answer all channeled HR administration-related queries from employees and managers in the business and ensure their resolution in accordance with service standards.
OTHER:
Solve operational and logistical problems within the ambit of responsibility.
Identify, implement innovations that will improve HR service being delivered to the Business Unit at lower costs.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES:
A Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management.
Valid Code EB drivers’ licence.
Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant HR and Operational experience, preferably in a unionized food processing plant.
Knowledge of HR principles and practices, Employment, and Labour Legislation.
Knowledge of Health and safety policies and procedures and Business unit processes.
Computer Literate, Proficient in MS Office. SAP knowledge and Experience.
Excellent numerical and communication skills. Strong people management skills.
Proactive and attention to detail.
Proactive, attention to detail and sense of responsibility and urgency.
Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Understand the need for confidentiality in dealing with all HR, IR/ER, Training and related issues.
