The Department of Educational Foundation, within the Faculty of Humanities, is seeking to appoint Part-Time Lecturers at the Soshanguve North Campus to teach the following modules:
• Professional Studies
• Classroom Management
• Foundations of Education
• Research Methods
• Teaching & Learning Sciences
• ICT in Education
• Educational Management
• Theory of Education
• Research Methods & Techniques
• Guidance And Counselling
Key performance areas/Core functions:
• To teach professional studies modules at BEd undergraduate level.
• To teach the foundations of Classroom Management/ Foundations of Education/ Research Methods and Techniques/Theory of Education/Information and Communication Technology in Education/Teaching and learning Sciences modules (Arts, Agriculture, Physical Education, and EMS) in PGCE and BEd honours programmes.
• To compile a study guide according to the prescribed level descriptors.
• Participate in departmental administration activities which include compiling of three examination papers, compiling of continuous assessment activities and tests, marking of scripts, entering of marks on ITS and giving prompt student feedback.
• Participate in re-curriculation processes concerning the School of Education.
• Assist with students’ queries related to the subject of the BEd undergraduate/PGCE/ BEd Honours course.
• Promote ethics, excellence and quality in teaching and learning.
• Participate in marketing and recruitment strategies of the department.
Minimum requirements:
1. Academic qualifications:
• A Masters Degree in Education or any other equivalent qualification.
• Masters of Science in Education specializing in Agriculture or any qualification with Agricultural science Specialization.
• Masters of Science in Education specializing in Economic and
• Management Sciences or any qualification with Economic and Management Sciences Specialization.
2. Experience
• Three years teaching experience in the Further Education and Training band fields.
• Knowledge in the area of subject specialisation mentioned under key responsibilities, which include technology assisted methods.
• Able to teach and work online.
3. Other Requirements: (e.g. work overtime/registration with professional board)
• Assist the department with moderation and marking of scripts.
4. Registration with a professional body.
