GIT Mechanical Engineer Intern
Minimum Qualifications /Requirements
BEng/BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar/relevant)
Ability to work in a quarrying and construction site environment
Willing to travel to our Afrimat sites
Driver’s license & own vehicle will be an advantage
Based in Tygervalley, Bellville, Cape Town, Lyttelton, Centrurion
The candidate must be medically fit in terms the Mine Health and Safety Act
Clear criminal record essential
Skills:
Technically motivated
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to work accurately
Honest and Reliable
Adaptable to change
Attention to detail
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
Complete Government Certificate of Competence Program
Form part of multiple maintenance improvement projects across Afrimat
Attend site meetings to understand operational conditions
Assist with improving maintenance and availability of mining equipment
Participate in project planning and execution
Assist with process improvement
Participate in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives
