Introduction
A millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical machinery and mechanical equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of machines, which is essential for production processes.
Job description
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment
Conduct fault finding independently
Monitor and record performance of electrical and mechanical equipment ensuring
optimum availability
Specialist support to maintenance and production teams
General administration and control of maintenance activities
Compiling data packs and deriving maintenance plans for the relevant systems
Forming an integrate part of the maintenance team by assisting with maintenance work
and shutdowns
Provide support and guidance in effective problem solving and root cause analysis
Ability to handle high pressure situations and multiple demands
Continuous improvement of work methods and productivity
Conduct Planned Job Observations (PJO’s) to minimise exposure to injury, recognise good safety performance, and facilitate continuous improvement.
Conduct Audits
Utilise time availability fully
Perform and ensure Hazard Identification Risk assessments process is followed at all
time
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
Grade 12 / N3 / NCV 4
Qualified Millwright (Trade Tested)
Experience & Requirements
5 Years’ experience in plant maintenance
Ability to do precision work in mechanical fitting
Ability to do fault-finding mechanical and electrical
Be a leader in subject matter knowledge and practical plant applications
Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and training manuals
Sound knowledge on AC and DC equipment
Isolation specialist

Must be able to function in a maintenance team
Must be highly motivated and self-driven
Must be able to work independently
Willing to work shifts/ standby / overtime
Computer literate (SAP, Word, Excel)
Must be highly motivated and self-driven
Must have sound organising, planning, coordination and leadership skills
Must be physically fit, with no fear of working at heights, on overhead cranes, have the
ability to work in hot confine areas and gas hazardous areas
Must be in possession of full complement of millwright tools in order to perform the work
effective and efficiently
