PART-TIME LANGUAGE LECTURERS: X4 DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES

SOSHANGUVE NORTH CAMPUS

The Department of Educational Foundation, within the Faculty of Humanities, is seeking to appoint Part-Time Lecturers at the Soshanguve North Campus. The position involves teaching the following subjects: LoLT: English (LLE105P), LoLT: English (LLE205P), LoLT: English LLG105G, LoCC: Sepedi (LSE105G), LoCC: Setswana (LTW105G).


Key performance areas/Core functions:

• Facilitate contact classes for Educational Foundation students in the Bed SP/FET and PGCE programmes.

• To compile a study guide according to the prescribed level descriptors.

• Participate in departmental administration activities which include compiling of three examination papers, compiling of continuous assessment activities and tests, marking of scripts, entering of marks on ITS and giving prompt student feedback.

• Promote ethics, excellence and quality in teaching and learning.

• Participate in marketing and recruitment strategies of the department.


Minimum requirements:

1. Academic qualifications:

• A Masters Degree in Languages you applied for, (Setswana, Sepedi, and English).


2. Experience:

• Three Year experience in teaching language subject

• A related Educational qualification would be a strong recommendation

• Skills in Computer application for administration and facilitation purposes

• Skills in facilitation dynamics

• Knowledge of Writing as a process

• Skills in working with students individually and in teams

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and technologies.
