Part time Communication Skills Lecturers

Faculty of Humanities eMalahleni Campus

The Faculty of Humanities, eMalahleni Campus requires the services of part-time lecturer(s) for

the eMalahleni Campus, for the 2025 academic year.

Key Performance areas/ Core functions

• Performing tasks relating to learning in the relevant field(s), including face-to-face and

online learning and monitoring on the LMS

• Providing appropriate input including study material, and assessments (online and f2f

assessments) related to f2f and online learning

• Having regular access to TUT email & other TUT apps, own device, and off-campus

internet

• Providing mentorship, consultation, performance monitoring and interventions

Minimum Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

1. An appropriate qualification on masters level (Masters degree or MTech) for

example in Language Practice, Linguistics, Business Communication, Strategic

Communication, Communication Skills, Communication Science, TEFL, TESL

2. 3 years’ relevant teaching experience

3. Excellent oral and written English skills

4. Competent in computer skills including MS Word, MS Teams

Experience:

• Teaching experience

• Tertiary teaching experience

• Computer-aided teaching

• Subject-specific teaching experience (Business English/Communication

in English for HRD, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Administrative &

Information Management (AIM) etc.

• Experience with LMS and hybrid T&L

• Remedial interventions
