PROFESSIONAL NURSE
SHORT TERM CONTRACT POSITIONS (Not exceeding 12 months)

Designation: Professional Nurse
Remuneration: R33 321,80 pm (all-inclusive, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric certificate (NQF level 4).
• Diploma or Degree in General Nursing (NQF level 6).
• Diploma or Degree in General Nursing (NQF level 6), with Midwifery and Community Health Services/Psychiatric will be an added advantage.
• SANC registration.
• 3 years’ post registration as a Professional Nurse.
• Basic knowledge of interpersonal relations, and customer relations.
Primary Function:
Provision of immunisations including the school-based immunisations (HPV, Tdap) and deworming of learners. Manage early detection and treatment and control of the health conditions in the community.
Key Performance Areas:
• Participate in the identification, design and delivery of health awareness campaigns at clinic and community level.
• To maintain and sustain acceptable administrative procedures and provide the relevant information for management to establish health trends, identify gaps and optimize planning in the delivery of health care. Actively engage with various community groups to foster response to communicable and non-communicable diseases and other community needs.
• Provision of health education to learners and parents about the importance of immunizations.
• Conducting health assessments of learners according to the relevant policies and guidelines.
• Provision of immunizations including the school-based immunizations (HPV, Tetanus Toxoid) and deworming of learners. Manage and safeguard all relevant health records including consent forms where possible.
• Applies procedural nursing sequences with regards to the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, evaluation and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Participate in community-focused awareness initiatives and personal development interventions through the dissemination of information on health issues and associated treatment application to ensure that objectives related to affordable, accessible and costeffective health care are realised.
• Initiate, facilitate and maintain community and intersectoral collaboration at clinic/regional level.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (Support Partners, Non-profit Organisations and other Community Structures).
• Quality assurances, accurate recording and reporting.
• Compilation of data reports.
